Our Garden Room Process

We use a 3 step process to design and build your perfect outdoor space. To see the full post of this garden room, please click here.

01. Foundations

In this stage, we will remove debris and level the working area. Next, we will construct a wooden frame to enclose the perimeter of the concrete. After that, we will begin pouring the concrete, creating a smooth and level base. Finally, we will inspect the concrete base to ensure the durability of your garden room. There will be time allowed for it to set.

02. Structure

There are many ways to build an outdoor building, and we make them in wood and brick. In the next phase, we will begin the construction of the structure. None of our rooms are pre-fab, so we will build all structures by hand on site. This provides a solid outdoor building built for longevity, that you can enjoy for years to come.

03. Completed

Once the structure is complete, we start work on the inside. Our garden rooms are custom built to your specifications. You can choose the fixtures and furnishings to your taste. When we have completed the garden building, we will allow you time to inspect it. If you are happy with it we will sign it off together. Leaving you with our warranty.

  Assigning Craig to manage our life long dream of creating a big kitchen/living room (90sqm) was one of the best decisions we ever made. We got in touch with Craig 1 year in advance of works commencing and from the get go Craig scheduled an initial meeting to discuss our plans. Leaving the meeting Craig gave us new ideas and put no pressure on signing and was happy to work around us.  Having visited several existing projects and received great customer feedback, we knew Craig was the builder for us as the quality of work was just exemplary. Craig saved us 5K by urging us to allow him to project manage the build and true to his word, he was on onsite multiple times per day, making sure everything was perfect. Along the way, we did encounter some problems, due to the existing condition of the garden but Craig always had a plan to work around them and not change designs with little or no change in cost. Craigs team are highly skilled, clean and respectful. They always tidied and locked up at the end of each day which left us worry free. One great trait about Craig; he treats his jobs like his own home and if he’s not happy with it,  the project does not move to the next stage.  It is no wonder he is respected in St Albans as a 5star builder. We will 100% be onboarding Craig again to do our 2nd story and driveway in the future.   In the last couple of years we have used CJ Smiths to build us a house from scratch and also to completely renovate and extend our current home. We had our garden room built in St Albans by Cjsmiths, we found that the level of advice and service was a cut above the builders we have used in the past. During the planning phase, they answered all of our concerns and together we were able to plan and create the perfect space we wanted.

The team were very polite and respectful during the build, cleaning up the site daily and treating our home and garden like it was their own!
