Eagle Way Extension: Blending Innovation with Elegance

In the heart of St Albans, on Eagle Way, the Ho family entrusted CJ Smiths with a vision: to expand their home with a ground-floor rear extension. Over 16 weeks, we added 72 square meters of sophisticated and functional living space, culminating in a project that exemplifies our commitment to excellence.

The cornerstone of this extension was the transformation of the existing kitchen into a Jack and Jill en-suite, ingeniously combining two rooms into one. This task presented a unique challenge, requiring meticulous planning and execution to ensure a seamless integration of spaces without compromising on design or functionality.

Central to the project’s success was the creation of a beautifully fitted off-white kitchen. Chrome fixtures and fittings add a touch of modernity, while the freestanding marble-surfaced island stands as a majestic centerpiece, inviting both culinary activity and social interaction. This kitchen is not just a cooking area but a dynamic space that adapts to the rhythms of family life and entertaining.

A bespoke window pane, one of the largest ever fitted by CJ Smiths, adorns the rear wall. This architectural feature is more than just a source of natural light; it’s a statement piece that defines the room. The window frames the outdoor scenery, bringing in copious amounts of light and creating an backdrop to the daily life within. It’s not just a window, but a canvas that displays the shifting seasons and times of day, making it a constant topic of conversation and admiration.

Externally, the extension’s aesthetic aligns harmoniously with the existing structure, demonstrating our ability to enhance without overpowering.
